Family Life

We have a FAMILY LIFE at the church this evening.It's fun because this month the family life committee decided to have a bingo social.Ther prizes are 6 Walmart gift card.Cards are free...Just last month the family life have HOLY HOP...which is fun too....We should watch movie tonight because it's our date night with my hubby.....ha ha ha..BUt the precaher keep calling us,remind us not to forget the family night....I have to many opps to grab but Im tired as of now,as of this hour,ha ha ha I work this morning,then this afternoon we went to the doctor.And now Im ready for my nap time.Dont tell me wrong, but Im happy that I have a bunch of opps THIS WEEK than the previous months.I dont have nothing!....Im so empress....I promise I will grab them tonight after we come home from the BINGO tonight.

ORT golf Tournament

Yesterday was the Old River Terrace United Methodist Church GOlf Tournament.Me & my husband was there as early as 7am. Jim Harrisson I call him the "BIG DOG" ha ha ha..instruct us about "WHAT THE HOLE WATCHERS"are! It's not that we dont trust this people playing but this is the church fund raising.And thanks GOD there is 57 players (15 teams). We watch the hole # 3 and some other couple watch the hole #17 which the price is "HOLE IN ONE ON......WINS and the price $10,000WOw! it's a big price.For hole #17, should be 165 for men and 150 yard for the women,that's what the price for.Luckily,nobody got it! ha ha ha.One of the church member donate for this prize.Before I go on this is my first time in the golf course....FOr the last two years,we been always been out of town everytime the event schedule. ME & my husband really dont have an idea but when we are in the actual game we found out that it's just easy.

The game starts at exactly 8am.We watch the #3 hole. And this is the team play the first hole.That's our preacher and his team.THere having fun.THe weather is pretty good.Not to hot and thanks GOd it's not raining.This is also my first time driving the gOLf CaRt.It's fun too.

Thats me,we are waiting for the team.....At 12pm it's already hot and Im already ready to go home but we still have 5 teams to be wait......

that's my husband and me acting silly.....his also ready to go home and we are tired...We dont know that the game will long last for 7 hrs...he could not handle to much heat. I had a headache too but still smiling ha ha ha..My husband keep saying me this is for the church! ha ha ha

Finally, the last team was here...that's charlotte another church member...THe tournament finish at 2pm....and after the game there is still some more prizes to be awarded at the pavillion but we did not stay.I have a headache because of the heat and my husband got hot. I need to be at the catholic church by 5pm for the sunday service. This is important to us me and my husband.

That's Jim who organize this event.He did the great job.Really,really great.ME and my husband enjoy even if we did not play.Also we would like to thanks the people who give donation for food,prizes,snacks etc.People who volunteer and thanks to my husband and me ha ha ha ha.

WIth this event thanks to GOD the church raised $5,500.This will help pay the ORT Methodist Church apportionments.AGain thanks for the people who donate,help,church members.WIthout you all the church could not raised this big amount. And the second big church fund raising event will be this coming NOvember the "FALL FESTIVAL".

Golf Course

I was in the Doctors Office when Jim Harrisson call us.Tomorrow is the "GOLF DAY" sponsored by the OLd River TErrace UNited Methodist Church at Channelview Golf Course. THis is a fund raising for the Church.HE wants us to watch the "HOLE" ........A hole! I dont even know how to play golf!Never even once! My husband and I sponsor a team but we dont play golf. I dont have an idea how you will win. I seen in the TV but watching and keeping scores,I dont know..I will leave it to my husband maybe he know it.......I play golf cards ha ha ha ... BUT he said all you want to do is watch the hole and he will tell us the details tomorrow......HUh! dont you know what time we will be at the golf course.....7am my friends! 7 am!.....Im still sleeping at that time since it's saturday....but for the sake of the church I will wake up early.....I hope. We will be at Buffy's house tonight to watch the boys since she and her husband have an important meeting at the restaurant and probably it tooks a while.It's been raining here in houston since saturday until yesterday...Good thing the weather is pretty good today..If not it's so nasty playing golf tomorrow.....IM sure mosquito's ar present there tomorrow. Everytime I see people playing golf,all is in my mind are THEY ARE RICH PEOPLE!.....Arent they!

Bamboo Bridge

I was reading a news in the Philippines and this bridge caught my attention.RESIDENTS walk a makeshift bridge made of bamboo below the Tigum Bridge in Brgy. Tabucan, Cabatuan, Iloilo, which was destroyed by typhoon Frank. Public works officials say it would take several months to repair the bridge and make it usable once more for transport and commerce.Wow! Only in the Philippines.Whoever make this bridge.... Come to Jesus Song (Untitled HYmm)

Our Power Lab. Vacation Bible School was finished last thursday. "Come to Jesus" is my favorite song even the kids and they have fun.Last thursday there is a re-enacment about thi song. It was so touchy and makes me cry even those kids ages 8.Everytime I hear this song,it makes me cry. This morning at the church all the kids who attend the VBS was present.All of them.YOU know why?because they will sing the Power Lab songs again during the service and do the Come to Jesus re-enacment.MOstly the people in the church are crying even the kids. NEw Movies

Here in Texas,August is the hottiest month so far in my experience. Instead staying at home on weekends me and my husband watch movies. Last Saturday we watch Stepbrothers by Will Ferrel.If you watch Blades of GLory well that's him.Stepbrothers is a pretty good movie.An immature comedy about maturity.But if I have kids I will not allow them to watch.

This afternoon we watch Swing Vote by Kevin Costner.This movie is a mix comedy and drama which makes me cry.It's excellent very witty and funny but also heartful and warm at the appropriate time.Im wishing there is a part two in this movie. So, if you have nothing to do this weekend bring your kids and watch Swing Vote.

Tragic Bush Crash

This afternoon,I seen this TV news about the tragic bush Crash this morning.An unlicensed charter bus carrying a Vietnamese-American Catholic group on a pilgrimage to an open-air religious festival blew a tire and skidded off a highway early Friday, killing at least 15 people and injuring more than 40. "My condolences".The bus, en route from Houston to Missouri with 55 people aboard, smashed into a guardrail and tipped over along the edge of the road at about 12:45 a.m., crushing one side of the vehicle and scattering luggage, clothes, a sandal and a blood-soaked pillow across the grass and pavement.
More than a dozen victims were reported in critical condition. Ten people were taken to the hospital by helicopter.

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School is one of the greatest opportunities we have to reach all people, especially children and preschoolers, during the summer months. It continues to be one of the most productive special events in terms of both finding prospects and leading them to the Lord.
I always volunteer to be the second person or a teacher helper. I always choose the pre-k.They are easy to handle,ha ha ha .But this year, I try something else like join the adult VBS lead by the Preacher.So, this year I attend the VBS with my husband. It's great,althought Im not a talker like some church member.Im a good listener. I just talk a little bit when the preacher asked me. Im a catholic that's why I just keep my mouth shut! ha ha ha..Today is the 4th day of the VBS and tomorrow is the last day.Honestly I like the topic that we have,it's about "THE POWER OF PRAYER"

Storm Edouard

This morning I went to krogers and there are to many people as in it's to hard to get a parking place even inside the grocery people are everywhere pushing there baggy. I met our church member asking me if Im ready. I said for what? SHe said for the storm tonight and tomorrow.OR it maybe a hurricane. THere's nothing wrong to be prepared but everybody's got panic today. We live in East houston.The storm has a 20 percent chance of reaching hurricane speeds of 74 mph before it makes landfall on Tuesday near Galveston, Texas, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.At its predicted strength, Edouard is unlikely to do much damage to coastal area refineries that were swamped by the storm surge from hurricanes Rita and Katrina in 2005, said Kenneth Medlock, an energy fellow with Rice University's Baker Institute.
Some refineries are on the "dirty side" of the storm's projected landfall, where winds are the most damaging. The swell won't likely be big enough to do sustained damage.
A series of powerful hurricanes in 2004 and 2005, including Hurricane Katrina, toppled oil rigs and severed pipelines in the Gulf, pushing oil prices to then-record highs.

Me & my husband sit in our swing every afternoon in our backyard and enjoy watching the wild birds.It's still daylight and mosquito are not bad today.While we are in the swing we seen three wild rabbits.They are playing,running outside the fence.They are so cute and I could not resist,so I get my camera and took a picture.My husband always feed those wild birds,so he get a pack of wild bird feeds and went outside the fence and scatter all over for the rabbit.After 20 minutes,here ther are again eating those corn,seeds...

My Daughters Birthday

Today is my daughter's 12th Birthday.Wow! for me it just yesterday,she was born.Wish I was there. Before here birthday I call her for some reason.Actually I will call her last night but she said we will chat tomorrow night.....she had a surprise for us....She want to join the band member at school.Well, I been thinking it many times because I know how expensive it is.Im also a band member when I was in high school for 4 yrs.Anyway, when I ask my husband all he said let her join and send how much she need it.Huh!...I dont want to spoiled my daughter but my husband spoiled her.Well, she deserve it.She had good grades in school and do some extra curriculum. We are proud of her...I ask my Mom what gift should I give to our daughter.My Mom said all she want for her birthday is a new haircut,meaning a new hairstyle.Wow! a 12 yrs old......new generation.........Hmm....We are excited to see her new look tomorrow night...Hopefully,soon she will be here with us.To my daughter Crystel Milca "HAPPY BIRTHDAY"
